Our People
Alastair Lamb: Director & Founder
Alastair trained with the British Royal Air Force and Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in logistics and operations management. Subsequent to a six year commission with the RAF he left to pursue a career in the humanitarian sector. He rapidly progressed from field logistician for a small US NGO to head the United Nations Joint Logistics Centre’s (UNJLC) Kashmir Sub Office. Since then he has consulted independently in logistics, operations and strategy.
He has regularly returned to the commercial sector to ground himself in best practice. In 2008 he was invited to be a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society for his innovative work in Sudan and Kashmir. He regularly blogs on the lighter side of logistics in Surely More Interesting Than Cargo Manifests……
His experience has taken him throughout Africa, Asia and the Middle East. He lives in Wiltshire, England, with his wife, Laura and has 3 children Millie, Joel and Keshet.
Jason Alcorn: Head of Safety and Security Services
Jason Alcorn, has a background in Australian policing; working at both state and federal level. Jason first worked with Alastair in Darfur, Sudan, as Head of Security for a small US NGO. He has, similarly, gone on to progress rapidly to senior regional positions with larger International Organisations. Jason is adept at balancing operational output with risk levels in remote, austere and post conflict settings; which makes him a natural selection to head up our safety and security section. He has directed security operations and defined security policy in a variety of settings around the world including Central, and South East Asia and Africa.
Jason is a qualified commercial helicopter pilot which makes him an added asset to our air operations team and well qualified to advise on heli-borne MERT (Medical Emergency Response Team) activities.
He has directed security operations and set security policy in a variety of settings around the world including Central, and South East Asia and Africa. He is married to Caroline and is currently based in Melbourne, Australia.
